We are based in the poorest part of the
Republic of South Africa which is the Eastern Cape.
We live and work in
the OR Tambo district, part of the previously known Transkei. The
number of people living in poverty is high in this district (64.6%) and the
unemployment
rate is 65.6%
We live in a
community with approximately 5000
souls, both here in Coffee Bay and in the surrounding lali's (villages).
Water and electricity are
not common lifestyle amenities and access roads into these areas are not
very good. Living is very basic for most of our people.
God has set before us the Great
Commission to reach out to all the poor and needy members of our community, both
with the Word of God, the Hope of tomorrow, and to assist with physical needs.
We are diverse in our serving of the community and strive to make a difference
in the life of the individual and the family.
